Midfield Misfits

We played well in bits
Midfield misfits

Lacked the guile of the Derby game
Great shame

But Barnsley no mugs
Hope Garry burned off their lugs

At full time
The bitter disappointment is a sign

That we expect more
Yet last season we stared at the trap door

This is a blip guys
Time flies

It'll soon be the Forest match
Batten down the hatch

We've missed Pontus
He'd have dealt with Barnsley no fuss

We've played worse
Let's not dwell chapter and verse

Still have faith
Take solace

In the fact we are not far away
Don't dismay

Tweaking and tinkering here and there
Anyone got a reliable striker going spare?

Let's not talk of Ross McContract
Or start silly whispers of Garry being sacked

The kids have done good
Sweat and blood

Let it slide
Just one game there's been a bump in the ride

Chop down the Forest
Be at our best

Under the lights
Of Elland Road burning bright

We will endure
Of that you can be sure

Let's Batter The Barnslehhh

Yorkshire rivalry resumes
Everyone presumes

Victory will be ours
But Barnsley are no wallflowers

Potential banana skin
As midfield options are thin

Defensive frailties never far away
Let's see which Leeds comes out to play

Can be Jekyll and Hyde
Rollercoaster ride

But Wood has hit form
We're riding the storm

Utilising the squad well
Even though Jansson's been out for a spell

Bridcutt has been class
It has come to pass

All the doom
Usual gloom

Feels like a distant memory
But Garry keeps the ship steady

Cellino on mute
Hard to compute

How positive things are
We've come far

Yet we should not rest
This will be a test

It should have been more

I won't be a bore
But it should've been more
A cricket score

First half we battered
Had them scattered
Shattered

Makeshift midfield masterclass
Hernandez cooking on gas
Majestic pass

Time after time
We crossed the line
Made everything look sublime

Finishing needed more finesse
But let's not stress
I confess

I'm getting greedy
A bit needy
Oh yes indeedy

I wanted a goal fest
Ok second half more a test
Thomas Ince a pest

Yet what a night
The future looks bright
Proud to be a white

Strength in depth almost there
The players really care
Passion laid bare

Sign up Jansson and Bartley
Don't forget an extension for Garry
Massimo just leave us be

Keep marching onward
Nice finish from Wood
Victory as sweet as chocolate pud

Glory days may be coming back
Confidence we don't lack
Let's not get slack

Still plenty of points left to play
Just do things our way
Things are okay :)

Costly Cup Stuff

We made hard work of that
Oh Pontus you prat
Never mind the magic hat
Someone calm the boys down
Almost made Garry look a clown
Dogged Cambridge went to town
On a much changed side
Who let standards slide
Kudos to the mighty whites pride
Who made the round trip
Ok we avoided a slip
First half just the usual blip
No cup romance
Mowatt seized a second half chance
At a glance
There were moments we could have been ten men
Ref got busy with card and pen
Then
Cambridge ran out of air
Pitch was a bit roughed up to be fair
Unlucky there
Shaun the fellow young gun
When all's said and done
They made us run
Two young feisty bosses
Some heavy losses
In injury and suspension
Oh the tension
An honourary mention
To Savage commentating
Pontificating
About our tackling risk taking
Pot kettle black sir
Well duh
I concur
Did it the hard way
Antonsson did okay
But not many shone today
Lesser lights
Were given the frights
Yet the future still burns bright
Let's not be negative
Promotion still a big if
But let's push on forthwith
Derby will be fresh for the fight
Reality bite
Squad looking a bit light
Yet I fancy us to get 3 points still
Take a chill pill
Marvellous Monk still fits the bill
Panic ye not
Have faith in this lot
At Elland Rd we are white hot ;)

Monday Madness

I must confess
I digress
That the first half was worthy of a boo
It's true
Yet Garry didn't hesitate
Didn't wait
Tactical move
To get the second half in the groove
Pontus and Bartley
Are must buys for me
Wood scored a cracker
Not one of them a slacker
Rotherham had no shooting boots
We're putting down roots
For a potentially successful campaign
To be Premier league again
A long way to go
That I do know
Yet optimism burns bright
Truly believe Garry is getting it right
A few tweaks here
Have no fear
Never mind Massimo
Up the football league we'll go
Keep the flag flying high
Against Cambridge an interesting cup tie
An old boy might want to settle a score
Potential trap door
Then there's Derby who should be Premier League
Lots of intrigue
Tough fixtures ahead
Got to be said
Though I fancy us to do well
Time will tell....
